what really happened...
I studied drawing and painting on my grandparent's kitchen table when I was a young boy. Somehow, their approval of the crude drawings of chickens inspired me to pursue a career in art.

Through the encouragement of my parents, family and friends, I continued drawing chickens and other barn yard animals. My drawings of flightless barn fowl got better and better. A thought occured to me that one day the Chicken Art Empire will be within my grasp and at my command.

Alas, the Chicken Art Empire was not realized, due to the fact I was 6 years old and that was the early 70's and chickens weren't "in style". I decided to stick with the art thing and expand my subject matter to cars, trucks volcanoes, giraffes and dead presidents. I studied the masters, had great art instructors and got properly trained to become a master artist.

Then things took a turn for the different... I studied graphic art & design in college, (what self respecting 18 year old artist who wants to eat, wouldn't).

I then pursued a very successful career as a graphic designer and creative director. Still keeping my toes in the artistic waters, I carried a sketchbook with me at all times to capture moments for future paintings.

These paintings were started in 2001 and I haven't stopped.

Thanks for looking,
D.
